BCD Travel Services B.V. Chief Systems Architect – Product Planning & Development (Remote) Full time, United States The Chief Systems Architect – Product Planning & Development is responsible for setting the Systems Architectural Vision, defining BCD’s Future State Architecture, defining Architectural Standards, leading the Architecture Review Board, establishing and enforcing Architectural Governance, and directing the various platform architects in their system designs to facilitate the execution of our Technology Strategy for all of Product Planning & Development. This role is pivotal in defining the technical future of BCD Travel products and services built for Corporations, Corporate Travelers, and consumers of our Travel Data API’s and Insights. As a Chief Systems Architect – Product Planning & Development, you will

  • Define the Future State Architecture of BCD products, including System Architecture, Cloud Architecture, Hosting, and Operations, Data Architecture, DevOps standards, and Secure Coding Standards, and how applications integrate and interoperate with each other
  • Lead Architectural Governance and Chair Architecture Review Board, who define standards and cross-platform architectural solutions
  • Establish and enforce Architectural Governance for several internal and external global development teams in various platforms with competing roadmaps and agendas
  • Develop Business Case(s) and justify the Future State Architecture and associated enhancements, with detailed plans outlining the pertinent milestones to the solution(s)
  • Manage and optimize total technology spend and optimize consistent with technology strategy
  • Collaborate and influence various platform teams to identify dependencies, identify and mitigate redundancies, and identify opportunities for optimization of technology investment with various technology providers
  • Assess and evaluate new technologies and technology vendors and create business cases for their application to our technology landscape
  • Assess and evaluate Artificial Intelligence capabilities and providers and optimize architecture for their deployment and use in BCD’s technology landscape
About you
  • Previous experience as a Chief Architect or Deputy Chief Architect for large enterprise system architecture
  • Extensive experience as a systems or application architect in enterprise wide system architectures
  • Experience designing, implementing, and operating high transaction volume, orchestrated solutions in cloud environments (AWS preferred, Azure and Google acceptable)
  • You have a BS in Engineering, a MS in Engineering, or an MBA (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with Travel Technology (Travel e-commerce, Airline Technology, Content Aggregator, GDS, etc.) and NDC distribution systems are a plus
