Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Data Governance / Data Manager on behalf of our client in Remote, USA.

We are seeking an experienced Data Governance / Data Manager to lead and enhance enterprise-wide data governance and data management initiatives. This role will be responsible for establishing data standards, improving data quality, managing metadata and data lineage, and ensuring consistency across reporting and data platforms. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in data governance frameworks, Azure data technologies, SQL Server, Power BI, and enterprise data management best practices.

This is a senior-level individual contributor role that partners with technical teams and business stakeholders to drive data maturity, governance compliance, and data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain enterprise data governance policies, standards, and best practices.

• Identify and document authoritative data sources across applications, databases, and reporting platforms.

• Develop and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.

• Standardize business definitions, naming conventions, and data management processes.

• Identify and resolve data quality issues, duplicate records, and conflicting data elements.

• Ensure consistency and accuracy across reporting platforms, including Power BI, SSRS, and SharePoint-based reporting solutions.

• Collaborate with technical teams on data architecture, data pipelines, and data warehouse initiatives within Azure environments.

• Create and maintain data governance documentation, assessments, and supporting artifacts.

• Provide guidance on data quality, governance, compliance, and reporting impacts for proposed system changes.

• Support data classification, data handling, and privacy-related governance activities.

• Partner with stakeholders to promote data stewardship and improve enterprise data management practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

• 5+ years of experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Data Administration, or a related discipline.

• Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, methodologies, and best practices.

• Hands-on experience with:

  • Microsoft Azure Data Services

  • SQL Server

  • Power BI

  • SharePoint

• Experience developing and maintaining data dictionaries, metadata management processes, and data lineage documentation.

• Demonstrated success establishing enterprise data standards and improving data quality.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with experience collaborating across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Data governance or data management certifications such as DAMA CDMP or Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate.

• Experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Databricks, or other modern data platforms.

• Familiarity with data maturity frameworks and enterprise data management models.

• Experience supporting large enterprise environments or highly regulated industries.

• Knowledge of governance, compliance, privacy, and risk management practices related to enterprise data.
