We are seeking a Data Scientist to join our team. This role will involve leading end-to-end analytics projects, building predictive models, and delivering data-driven insights for talent and people analytics use cases. The ideal candidate will have experience in statistical modeling, machine learning, HR analytics, and a passion for transforming complex data into actionable business outcomes.

Location: Renton, WA 98059 (On-site; Renton preferred. Also open to St. Louis, MO or Dallas/Plano, TX locations)
Duration: 6 months (can extend)

Job Description:

The Data Scientist will lead advanced analytics initiatives focused on talent and people analytics. This Data Scientist role requires strong expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, and HR data systems. The Data Scientist will partner with HR stakeholders, engineers, and business leaders to design, develop, and deploy scalable data solutions. This Data Scientist position emphasizes end-to-end ownership from problem definition to production deployment and monitoring. The ideal Data Scientist will combine technical depth with strong business acumen and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Analytics Delivery:

  • Lead full lifecycle analytics projects from problem definition to deployment
  • Collaborate with HR stakeholders to define use cases and KPIs
  • Deliver production-ready models and monitoring frameworks

Model Development & Machine Learning:

  • Build predictive and prescriptive models for talent analytics (attrition, retention, mobility, hiring, compensation)
  • Apply statistical techniques including regression, clustering, causal inference, and NLP/LLM methods
  • Validate models using cross-validation, fairness testing, and calibration techniques

Data Engineering & Deployment:

  • Develop ETL pipelines, feature engineering workflows, and model training pipelines
  • Collaborate with engineering teams for CI/CD and deployment
  • Work with cloud platforms, data lakes, and distributed systems

NLP & Advanced Analytics:

  • Design NLP/LLM-based solutions for HR use cases such as resume parsing and employee feedback analysis
  • Ensure explainability, fairness, and compliance in AI models

Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Implement model monitoring, drift detection, and retraining strategies
  • Develop dashboards and visualizations using BI tools
  • Communicate insights through executive-ready reports and storytelling

Collaboration & Mentorship:

  • Work cross-functionally with HR, Legal, Privacy, and Engineering teams
  • Mentor junior team members and review code and models
  • Ensure adherence to governance, ethics, and compliance standards
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in Data Science, with 5+ years in Talent/People Analytics or enterprise consulting
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or related field (advanced degree preferred)
  • Strong expertise in statistical modeling (regression, clustering, causal inference, NLP/LLM techniques)
  • Advanced programming skills in Python with experience in production-level code, testing, and packaging
  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday, PeopleSoft, or equivalent
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with BI tools like Tableau or Power BI
  • Experience with ML lifecycle tools (MLflow, SHAP, LIME, etc.) and model monitoring frameworks
  • Familiarity with data engineering tools such as Spark, dbt, Airflow, and cloud platforms
  • Knowledge of privacy, security, and ethical AI practices in handling sensitive HR data
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in large-scale enterprise environments
  • Familiarity with fairness and governance tools such as AIF360
  • Strong experience in deploying ML models into production environments
  • Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Experience working in cross-functional Agile teams
