  • Collaborate regularly with English Department colleagues to review curriculum, analyze student data, refine instructional practices, and ensure consistency across grade levels.
  • Implement the school’s classroom management and discipline procedures with fidelity.
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and academically focused classroom environment.
  • Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other school events as required.
  • Uphold the mission, values, and academic expectations of Mystic Valley Regional Charter School.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver effective instruction.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to analyze student performance data and use findings to inform instruction.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with students, families, colleagues, and community members.
  • Commitment to maintaining high academic and behavioral expectations for all students.

Preferred

  • Massachusetts teaching licensure in English Language Arts (Grades 5–12) or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Experience teaching middle school and/or high school English.
  • Familiarity with the International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Great Books curriculum, or classical education models.
  • Experience with curriculum development, assessment design, and data-driven instruction.

Physical and Professional Requirements

  • Ability to perform all duties in accordance with school policies, state and federal regulations, and applicable educational standards.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, solve problems effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Commitment to collaboration, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
