Senior Nuclear Engineer – Where Your Expertise Shapes the Future of Nuclear Energy

Are you a seasoned nuclear engineering leader ready to influence mission‑critical projects, mentor the next generation of engineers, and deliver solutions in one of the world’s most tightly regulated and impactful industries? This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex, high‑visibility nuclear initiatives where safety, precision, and technical excellence are non‑negotiable—and where your leadership truly matters.

If you thrive in environments that value nuclear safety culture, regulatory rigor, autonomy, and expert‑level problem solving, you’ll feel right at home. We’re seeking a forward‑thinking nuclear professional who brings technical authority, collaboration, and strategic insight to every project. If you’re ready to take the next step in your nuclear engineering career, this is your moment.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and review project estimates, schedules, progress reports, and workforce forecasts for nuclear facilities and programs
  • Establish, track, and monitor nuclear material key quantities; provide detailed analysis and forward‑looking forecasts
  • Develop and review nuclear‑grade specifications, including design criteria compliant with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Participate in nuclear equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities, including vendor technical evaluations
  • Perform and verify complex nuclear engineering calculations, specify safety‑related equipment, and resolve high‑difficulty technical challenges
  • Serve as a Supervising Lead, providing direction and oversight to discipline leads and mentoring junior engineers; deliver coaching and performance input
  • Analyze issues of varying complexity within nuclear environments and make independent recommendations aligned with project objectives, safety standards, and regulatory commitments
  • Support and uphold nuclear safety culture, quality assurance requirements, and configuration control throughout the project lifecycle

Requirements

  • Accredited four‑year engineering degree (or global equivalent) with required nuclear industry experience and 16+ years of relevant engineering experience
  • Demonstrated experience working on nuclear power, DOE, commercial nuclear, fuel cycle, or other nuclear‑regulated projects
  • Strong communication skills across internal teams, executive leadership, clients, regulators, vendors, contractors, and site personnel
  • Deep technical knowledge applicable to nuclear engineering disciplines and nuclear facility standards
  • Ability to learn, interpret, and apply applicable local, state/province, and federal/national nuclear statutes, regulations, and guidelines
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage priorities in high‑accountability environments
  • Professional engineering registration and technical society membership preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of nuclear discipline codes and standards, material qualification requirements, availability, and cost considerations
  • Proven experience with effort‑hour estimating, staffing forecasts, and resource planning for nuclear projects
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and lead large‑scale, complex nuclear projects from initiation through close‑out
  • Expertise in nuclear project setup, schedule development, progress tracking, reporting, and final close‑out
  • Practical field experience in nuclear or radiological environments
  • Intermediate computer/software proficiency (Word, Excel, email, presentation tools)
