Job Description

Our client, a well-known and highly reputable real estate developer, is seeking a Controller with great leadership skills. This company offers a hybrid schedule and significant potential for growth.

Salary: $150K – $180K, 20% target bonus

WFH 2-3 days per week

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage and mentor a team of 3-5 accounting professionals
• Ensure appropriate controls and procedures are in place for accurate and timely financial reporting
• Review workpapers of development projects to ensure accuracy
• Oversee month-end close, including reviewing tax-based financial statements
• Oversee the preparation of detailed audit workpaper in connection with month, quarter and year-end financial audit and reporting process
• Reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and monthly reports
• Utilize existing accounting systems to automate processes and reporting where appropriate
• Support CFO with ad-hoc analysis requests
• Manage annual Building Operating Expense reports; prepare annual operating budget, revised forecasts
• Ensure compliance with partnership agreements, debt covenants, and other contractual obligations

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’ s degree in Accounting or a related field
• CPA strongly preferred
• Managerial experience required
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and the accounting requirements of real estate organizations
• Strong organization, coordination and planning, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to meet strict deadlines consistently
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
