Job Description

Our client is seeking a Tool & Die Maker to be responsible for building, maintaining, and repairing injection molds used in the production of plastic components. This role involves machining, fitting, assembling, and finishing precision metal parts to ensure molds meet required specifications and support reliable manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities:

• Perform additional duties as assigned.
• Diagnose and repair molds to support production uptime.
• Maintain accurate documentation related to tooling work and repairs.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and mold specifications.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Lay out, measure, mark, and machine metal stock for mold components.
• Assemble molds and verify dimensions using appropriate measuring tools.
• Perform precision grinding, fitting, and finishing of mold cavities and components.
• Plan machining and assembly operations, visualizing mold geometry and required tooling steps.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience with injection mold construction and repair strongly preferred.
• Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry to machining and layout tasks.
• Effective troubleshooting skills for mold fit, finish, and dimensional issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high‑quality work.
• Ability to understand and follow written, verbal, and diagram-based instructions.
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
• Proficiency with manual machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders) and precision measuring tools.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in tool & die, moldmaking, or a closely related precision machining role.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
• Visual acuity required for close work and fine detail.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Regular use of hands for machining, assembly, and precision measurement.
